Job Description

Who we are:

Founded in 2013, Ignition is the leading revenue and billing automation platform for firms and agencies. We automate proposals, invoicing, payments and workflows in a single AI-powered platform, empowering businesses to sell, bill and get paid faster.

Ignition automates proposals, engagement letters, invoicing, payments and workflows in a single AI-powered platform, empowering 8,500+ businesses to sell, bill and get paid for their services with ease.

To date, Ignition customers have managed relationships with over 2.4 million clients and earned $13b in revenue via the platform. Ignition's global workforce spans Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Philippines, US and the UK.

Company Values:

  • We are better everyday

  • We work without ego

  • We are smarter together

  • We hero our customer

Where and how we work:

We welcome candidates based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne with full Australian work rights. We’ve fully adopted hybrid working, so you can work from home, a shared workspace or a combination of both. The successful candidate will be able to start as soon as possible.

About the Team:

The Ignition Sales team is highly collaborative and supportive. You’ll be surrounded by an experienced team that wants to help you grow and succeed together.

We work without ego, welcoming coaching and feedback in the pursuit of getting better every day. We share calls and stories of our experiences with prospects, especially when things don't go as planned, because we want to help more firms understand the value of what we offer.

We operate in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment where prioritisation and organisation are key to success. We are aligned on the processes and activities that drive winning results, and we are passionate about our customers and how we can help them. An established sales and GTM process awaits you, but we continually innovate and improve it, giving you room to make it your own.

About the Role:

This is a pivotal role at the forefront of Ignition's growth in Australia. You'll sit at the heart of our go-to-market motion, owning a full-cycle book of new business across accounting and bookkeeping firms, from sole practitioners through to multi-partner practices. Most of your pipeline comes from marketing-generated inbound and our SDR team, and you'll add to it through your own prospecting and ecosystem relationships.

Your buyers are firm owners and partners: time-poor, sceptical of software promises, and looking for practical solutions. Since 1 July 2026, certain designated services provided by accounting and bookkeeping firms have come under AML/CTF obligations under AUSTRAC’s Tranche 2 reforms. You’ll lead consultative discovery, tailored demos and commercial conversations, connecting each firm’s priorities with the measurable impact Ignition can have on its business.

You have ownership over your pipeline and the freedom to test new angles that you believe will help you win.

What success looks like in your first 90 days:

  • 30 days: onboarded and certified on our product, demo and sales process, and running your first discoveries within your first 1-2 weeks.

  • 60 days: running your own full-cycle deals from inbound and SDR-sourced pipeline, with your first closed-won

  • 90 days: tracking to your ramped quota, with a pipeline you can forecast with confidence

What your day to day will look like:

  • Rapid response to a strong flow of marketing-generated and SDR-sourced opportunities

  • Conduct high-quality discoveries with firm owners and partners to understand how they price, engage clients, bill and manage compliance

  • Deliver tailored demos that tie Ignition to each firm's priorities, then guide them through evaluation, commercials and close

  • Build multi-product deals across proposals, billing, payments and Ignition Compliance (AML/KYC)

  • Prioritise and manage your open pipeline in HubSpot, with clear next steps and an accurate forecast

  • Self-source and re-engage opportunities through your network, partner referrals and industry events

  • Work closely with SDRs, Marketing, Partnerships and Product, sharing what you're hearing in the market

  • Research and understand industry trends, regulatory change and persona pain points across accounting and bookkeeping firms

What you need to succeed:

  • 3+ years in a quota-carrying, closing sales role, ideally in B2B SaaS, with consistent results you can show in numbers

  • Optional but highly preferred: an accounting background with knowledge of how professional services firms operate, or familiarity with the Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks ecosystem.

  • An existing network in the Australian accounting community

  • Experience with modern sales frameworks (GAP Selling, SPICED, MEDDICC) and tools such as Gong or Apollo

  • Demonstrated interest in and/or hands-on experience with AI tools, particularly Claude and ChatGPT

  • You think creatively and share your interesting points of view and best practices with your peers

Bonus Point:

  • An accounting background with knowledge of how professional services firms operate, or familiarity with the Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks ecosystem is highly preferred

Why join us:

Join our global SaaS scale-up company where we foster a collaborative, open, and transparent culture and work without ego. Our team comprises curious and intelligent colleagues who embrace challenges. Here's what we offer:

  • Competitive salary package plus employee stock options from day one

  • Annual education allowance to support your professional development

  • Employee recognition program that celebrates impact and contribution

  • Quarterly wellness allowance to support your physical and mental wellbeing

  • Access to confidential counselling and wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Program

  • Flexible working, supported by work-from-office reimbursement and a mobile allowance to help you set up safely at home

  • Work from anywhere for up to one month each year, with business approval

  • Financial Planning allowance (after all, we are in the accounting business!)

  • Vehicle Leasing Benefits

  • Paid parental leave

  • An extra paid day off for your birthday, plus paid volunteering leave

What to expect from our recruitment process:

  • Introductory conversation with our Talent team: A friendly discussion to learn more about your background and share additional context about the role and Ignition.

  • Hiring Manager conversation and role play: A focused discussion on your experience, strengths, leadership approach, and alignment with our strategic priorities followed by a mock discovery call

  • Final conversation with the Head of the function: An opportunity to discuss career growth, as well as the broader business context and vision.

  • Reference and background checks: Conducted following acceptance of a verbal offer.
