Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Australian Accountant VA to support Australian clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, compliance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience working with Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, payroll, and cloud-based accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Perform bank, credit card, and GL reconciliations
Process payroll, STP, and superannuation
Prepare BAS, IAS, GST, and PAYG reports
Maintain accurate financial records and month-end close
Prepare financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Liaise with clients and external accountants
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and ATO requirements
Required Skills
Australian bookkeeping/accounting experience
Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online
BAS, GST, STP, Payroll, Superannuation
Bank reconciliations
Financial reporting
Microsoft Excel
Has knowledge using the CRMs below:
Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online
Dext or Hubdoc
Employment Hero or KeyPay
Karbon, Xero Practice Manager (XPM), FYI Docs
HubSpot, Salesforce or Zoho CRM (preferred)
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication
Time management
Requirements
Reliable internet connection with backup option preferred.
Quiet and professional work-from-home setup.
Available to work full-time on a PH dayshift schedule.
