As an Accounting Operations Assistant you will process high-volume transaction, perform reconciliations and maintain financial records in QBO
What you'll be doing:
- Own the numbers: Process high-volume transactions across 50 currencies and maintain accurate financial records
- Reconcile & control: Perform reconciliations and implement financial controls under guidance of the Financial Controller
- Work with data at scale: Manage large datasets in Excel-build pivot tables, create insightful reports, and identify trends or anomalies.
- Bookkeeping & accounting: Post transactions and maintain ledgers in QuickBooks ensuring accurate and timely financial closes. and be responsible for clean, timely financial closes.
- Simplify the complex: Help translate raw data into clear, concise financial reports - balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, and beyond
- Support operations: Contribute to smooth day-to-day finance operations including payment tracking, vendor/client ledger updates, and reconciliations.
- Assist with financial analysis: Support variance analysis, trend spotting, and assist in preparing reports for internal stakeholders.
- Improve controls: Participate in strengthening internal processes and identifying opportunities for automation or efficiency improvement.
- Accounting knowledge: Strong understanding of the balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statements - gained through experience in accounting, financial control or audit experience.
- Excel wizardry: Advanced Excel skills - comfortable with large datasets, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and sumifs, and building analytical models
- QuickBooks experience: Familiarity with QuickBooks Online for recording and reconciling financial transactions.
- Standards-savvy: Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS accounting frameworks.
- Operational mindset: Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with evolving processes.
- Analytical chops: Able to break down complex data and transform it into meaningful financial insights.
