Job Description

tl;dr: AI Engineer; post-acquisition profitable health/adtech; team is scaling business efficiency; up to 150k USD base, we can talk higher figures and EU/UK/US employment

PulsePoint sits at the intersection of healthcare and adtech. We help brands and agencies interpret the hard-to-read signals across the health journey and unify these digital determinants of health with real-world data to produce the most dimensional view of the customer. We are 300+ and growing, post-acquisition business and one of the leading players in the US healthcare ad market.

We're looking for an AI Engineer to help re-shape our business and scale our efficiency:

  • Design, develop, and maintain LLM-based AI components to improve the efficiency of internal teams and user-facing communications – from data retrieval to chat interfaces.

  • Experiment with and evaluate new frameworks, models, and architectures emerging in the field.

  • Improve the underlying data infrastructure to address challenges posed by LLM usage.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams of analysts, software engineers, and user-facing departments to identify use cases and design solutions.

  • Contribute to the technical vision for generative AI systems at PulsePoint.

You'll join the Core Engineering team, responsible for the PulsePoint Exchange and Life Advertising platform – handling hundreds of thousands of transactions per second, billions of times a month, with responses collected from dozens of parties in milliseconds and thousands of data points factored into every serving decision.

Basic Qualifications

  • Python experience, including data manipulation packages like numpy and pandas, solid SQL skills, and understanding of TDD principles.

  • Independence, initiative, and ownership over what you build.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking: you will need to figure out your own mistakes, and sometimes not just yours, especially in such a new field.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing, delivering, and supporting AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g. LLM Inference, Embeddings, and VectorDBs, ranking algorithms, and time series analysis).

  • Experience with k8s, as we are mostly self-hosted.

  • Java & Python proficiency.

We offer

  • Remote work, high engineering bar and comfortable work culture.

  • Flat hierarchy with direct access to business, product, and operations.

  • Ownership and direct impact, with room to shift focus as your interests evolve.

  • Salary: up to 150k USD, higher figures are negotiable for top talent.
