Our partner is looking for an Associate Principal Engineer, Data Architecture (Functional Architecture) based in India. This is a senior architecture role focused on shaping enterprise-wide data strategies within complex financial services environments. The position plays a critical role in defining target-state data architectures that support risk, finance, compliance, and capital markets domains at scale. You will act as a key technical authority, ensuring data ecosystems are designed for regulatory alignment, resilience, and long-term scalability. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to translate strategic objectives into robust data solutions. It offers the opportunity to influence enterprise data governance frameworks and architecture standards across global programs. You will also contribute to shaping modern data platforms leveraging cloud, analytics, and emerging AI-driven data paradigms.
- Accountabilities: Lead the definition, governance, and evolution of enterprise data architecture standards, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements. Define and maintain target-state, transition-state, and current-state data architectures across financial services domains such as Risk, Finance, Treasury, and Compliance Drive enterprise data modeling initiatives and ensure alignment with global and industry data standards (e.g., FSLDM, BIRD) Design end-to-end data flows, integration architectures, and cross-domain data solutions across complex ecosystems Establish and facilitate architecture governance forums, review boards, and data standards adoption across the organization Lead architectural decisions for data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and regulatory reporting initiatives Partner with business, technology, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure consistency across data strategy and execution Review and approve solution architectures to ensure compliance with governance, quality, and regulatory expectations Requirements Experienced data architecture leader with strong financial services domain expertise and deep knowledge of enterprise data systems and governance frameworks. 9+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Data Management, or related roles, ideally in financial services Strong domain expertise in areas such as Risk, Finance, Treasury, Capital Markets, or Transaction Banking Deep understanding of financial products including loans, deposits, bonds, derivatives, swaps, and options Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks such as FINREP, ILAAP, CCR, and other EMEA requirements Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent technologies Expertise in enterprise data modeling, metadata management, MDM, and data quality frameworks Experience with data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra) and architecture tools (e.g., LeanIX, Ardoq) Strong understanding of modern data architecture patterns including Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Lake, and hybrid architectures Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills across technical and executive audiences Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and decision-making capability in complex environments Benefits Competitive salary aligned with senior architecture responsibilities and experience Opportunity to shape enterprise-scale data strategy in a global financial services context Exposure to cutting-edge data architecture patterns and modern cloud data ecosystems Strong career growth in a high-impact principal-level technical leadership role Collaborative and globally distributed work environment Opportunity to influence enterprise governance, standards, and strategic data initiatives Access to complex, high-value transformation programs in regulated industries.
