This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of healthcare coding expertise, client engagement, and commercial growth strategy within a fast-paced clinical support environment. The position is responsible for shaping and expanding relationships with existing clients and prospects while ensuring alignment between sales, operations, and coding quality teams. You will act as a trusted advisor, bringing deep HIM and coding knowledge into complex sales and implementation cycles. The role blends strategic consulting, client advocacy, and operational insight to ensure successful delivery of coding solutions that improve financial and clinical outcomes. You will play a key part in designing tailored proposals, guiding client discovery, and supporting seamless onboarding experiences. This is a highly client-facing leadership role requiring both technical depth and strong relationship-building capabilities. The environment is collaborative, cross-functional, and focused on continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Accountabilities: Serve as a senior HIM and coding subject matter expert supporting sales teams in complex solution design, client discovery, and proposal development. Lead in-depth client assessments to understand coding workflows, operational needs, volume demands, and revenue cycle challenges. Develop customized, implementation-ready proposals in collaboration with operations and quality leadership teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support retention, satisfaction, and long-term growth opportunities. Act as a key liaison between sales, coding operations, and quality teams to ensure seamless client transitions and implementation success. Deliver client presentations, operational assessments, and detailed reports with actionable recommendations for leadership stakeholders. Support identification of new sales opportunities and contribute to closing strategic deals through consultative engagement. Ensure alignment between client expectations and operational delivery, mitigating risks throughout the onboarding and service lifecycle. Communicate client needs and insights internally to support continuous improvement across clinical support services. Provide thought leadership on coding operations, HIM systems, and revenue cycle optimization. Requirements: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or related field required. Active credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or equivalent certification strongly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HIM leadership with a strong focus on medical coding and revenue cycle operations. Proven experience working with multiple EMRs and HIM systems in complex healthcare environments. Strong knowledge of coding workflows, coding metrics, and hospital revenue cycle processes. Experience in HIM or revenue cycle consulting is highly preferred. Strong strategic planning, project management, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present, influence, and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong client-facing experience with demonstrated ability to build trust and long-term relationships. Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, operations, and technical teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive and service-oriented approach.
