  • This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bankruptcy & Reorganization Attorney based in the United States. This is an opportunity for an experienced restructuring attorney to advise sophisticated clients through complex insolvency, bankruptcy, and financial restructuring matters. You’ll work on significant Chapter 11 proceedings, distressed transactions, workouts, and creditor-related matters across a range of industries. The role combines strategic legal advice with hands-on drafting, negotiation, and case management. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, business stakeholders, outside counsel, and other legal professionals to develop practical solutions to challenging financial situations. Your expertise will help clients manage legal and commercial risk while navigating high-stakes restructuring decisions. The position offers meaningful exposure to complex matters and the opportunity to deliver pragmatic, business-oriented legal strategies. It is well suited to a seasoned bankruptcy professional who brings strong judgment, communication skills, and deep restructuring expertise.
  • Accountabilities Draft, review, and negotiate restructuring plans, forbearance agreements, financing documents, purchase agreements, and other bankruptcy and restructuring documentation. Advise clients on Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor rights, insolvency matters, financial restructurings, and related legal risks. Represent and advise clients throughout bankruptcy cases, distressed transactions, workouts, and other restructuring engagements. Collaborate with clients, business teams, outside counsel, and other stakeholders to develop and execute effective restructuring strategies. Manage legal matters involving distressed businesses, debt obligations, claims, asset sales, and related financial transactions. Evaluate complex legal and commercial issues and provide practical recommendations aligned with client objectives. Monitor developments in bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring law and incorporate relevant changes into client advice and legal strategies. Support negotiations and strategic decision-making throughout restructuring proceedings and transactions. Maintain a strong focus on clear communication, timely execution, and commercially practical outcomes. Requirements 10+ years of experience practicing bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, or a closely related area of law. Deep knowledge of Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor rights, insolvency principles, and restructuring processes. Demonstrated experience advising clients on bankruptcy matters, financial workouts, distressed transactions, or complex restructuring situations. Experience representing one or more key restructuring stakeholders, such as debtors, creditors, lenders, committees, or other parties in bankruptcy proceedings. Experience with out-of-court restructurings, distressed debt, debtor-in-possession financing, asset sales, plan confirmation, or related transactions is preferred. Juris Doctor degree and active authorization to practice law in an applicable U.S. jurisdiction. Excellent legal drafting, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong ability to assess complex situations, identify legal and commercial risks, and develop practical solutions. Comfort using technology and legal tools to manage matters efficiently and collaborate in a modern, flexible working environment. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with clients, legal teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel. Benefits Estimated total compensation for full-time attorney roles ranging from $104,500 to $325,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
