Description
- We are building Amazon's first horizontal self-serve decisioning platform — an intelligence layer that upgrades static rule-based systems into outcome-learning, context-aware decision engines. The platform serves multiple tenants across multiple organizations and domains, each requiring structured onboarding, cross-org coordination, and production launch governance. We are looking for a Business Analyst who will support the team by solving complex business problems through data analysis across multiple projects. This role is tactical — you'll take defined business questions, extract and transform data using SQL and spreadsheets, and deliver findings that help the team make informed decisions. You'll execute tasks independently with guidance from leadership. You'll be responsible for pulling data from varied sources, applying basic transformations (aggregations, metric ratios, if-then logic), and producing descriptive analyses — pivots, groupings, and process flows — that provide visibility into business performance and highlight anomalies. You'll document your analytical approach clearly, so your work is replicable by others on the team. You'll automate repetitive manual work, help train new peers, and learn to tailor your communication to different audiences. This role offers the opportunity to build solid analytical skills on a high-impact platform team, contributing directly to decisions that shape how Amazon's decision systems operate at scale. Key job responsibilities The candidate will own the production and delivery of a suite of reports, tools regularly used by the organization to make key business decisions. This will involve: 1. Creating, supporting and continuously improving reports and metrics that support the business operations 2. Converting data into digestible business intelligence and actionable information using tools like Quicksight/Tableau 3. Shaping and delivering key metrics, reports, and indicators by which business can assess its performance 4. Diving deep into large data sets to answer specific business questions using Excel, SQL and other data manipulation languages and present findings to leadership 5. Support business teams to utilize metrics and analysis to determine improvement opportunities Tools used include: 1. SQL (Redshift) 2. Excel Advanced VBA 3. Tableau/Quicksight 4. Report scheduling tools (internal) 5. AWS (S3, Lambda, Athena) About the team We operate at the intersection of product, science, and GTM — building a platform that connects decision systems across Amazon so that one signal makes all of them smarter. The platform is live with founding tenants, scaling to broad GA, and building pipeline for pan-Amazon adoption. This role is critical to ensuring that every tenant moving through the funnel has the data foundation needed to succeed. You will work directly with platform tech and business (applied science, engineering, PgMs, and tenant-side stakeholders) to deliver the analytical backbone — data readiness assessments, performance reporting, metric tracking, and business intelligence — that turns raw data into confident launch decisions, one tenant at a time, then many in parallel.
