Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Infrastructure Design Engineer experienced in design consultancy, particularly in infrastructure and land development projects across the UAE and KSA. The candidate should have strong technical expertise in dry utilities design, electrical distribution networks, street lighting, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate electrical infrastructure networks for land development projects, including primary substations, HV corridors, distribution substations, package unit substations, feeder pillars, service turrets, MV networks (up to 33kV), and LV networks.
• Develop dry utility infrastructure designs from concept master planning through detailed design stages.
• Undertake utility corridor space proofing, Right of Way (ROW) assessments, and utility coordination with wet utilities, roads, transportation, landscaping, and other infrastructure disciplines.
• Perform electrical network calculations, load assessments, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and prepare technical reports.
• Design telecommunications infrastructure networks, including duct routes, manholes, and coordination for GSM coverage requirements.
• Prepare street lighting designs for various road classifications and ROWs, including lighting calculations, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, and landscape lighting branch wiring.
• Develop electrical infrastructure designs using Civil 3D and ensure compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Explore digital design solutions, innovative technologies, and workflow improvements to enhance design efficiency and manage deliverables across multiple projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable UAE and KSA authority standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of relevant experience in electrical infrastructure design within an engineering design consultancy.
• Experience working on infrastructure and land development projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and KSA authority requirements, standards, and regulations.
• Proven experience in electrical network calculations, utility coordination, and detailed design development.

Additional Information

Technical Skills & Software Proficiency

• Strong understanding of HV, MV (up to 33kV), and LV electrical distribution networks.
• Proficiency in electrical network design and analysis software, including:
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • ETAP
  • DIgSILENT PowerFactory / SINCAL
  • DIALux
• Knowledge of dry utilities infrastructure planning and design.
• Understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and street lighting design.
• Strong technical report writing, calculation, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
