What this opportunity involves:

As an Engineering Manager for our Flexible Engineering/FM service offering, you will be a hands-on technical expert who works directly with account teams and clients on-site to deliver engineering services through our variable resourcing model.

This is a "boots on the ground" role where you'll be deployed across multiple client locations, providing technical support, executing maintenance programs, and ensuring operational excellence at the site level. You'll be part of our regional engineering team, working flexibly across different client accounts based on demand and technical requirements.

You'll have the support of the broader engineering platform while focusing on practical, on-site engineering execution that directly impacts client satisfaction. You will spend your time on client sites conducting inspections, performing maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting account teams with technical expertise. Your work directly ensures that building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant standards.

Overview of the roles responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular technical site visits, equipment inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and support compliance audits across Flexible Engineering/FM accounts.
  • Oversee critical maintenance programs, building management systems, and implement practical solutions to ensure asset reliability and performance.
  • Operate and maintain building management systems, HVAC controls, and monitoring equipment across assigned facilities.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and installations, including quality validation and compliance verification.
  • Provide engineering guidance to account managers and site teams, troubleshoot complex equipment failures, and conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues.
  • Participate in client meetings with technical insights and assist with technical aspects of proposals, scope changes, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and findings for clients and stakeholders, documenting best practices and developing site-specific protocols.
  • Work extensively with other COE functions to maximize platform program value and deploy SME expertise to accounts.

  • A team player, but able to work independently, to meet goals·      

  • Minimum 5 years in engineering operations in IFM·      

  • Degree qualified preferably in engineering or technical field or relevant and extensive field experience in lieu would be considered·      

  • Requires a continuous improvement mindset with an ability to promote change amongst teams.·      

  • Experience driving and deploying large scaling initiatives and programs across varied people, assets and geographies.·      

  • Position could require 10% travel.·      

  • Requires general understanding and can demonstrate understanding Engineering Delivery, commercial implications and risk, and change management.· 

  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills and ability to quickly identify, respond to and resolve issues.·      

  • Should have broad understanding of various IFM commercial structures and implications of each related to operational delivery, especially in the ANZ market.
