Job Description

The main purpose of this position is traveling to various truck driving schools and seminars, and presenting the company to potential drivers using company promotional items so as to successfully recruit qualified drivers. 90% travel is required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Presenting company profile in group and individual presentation form to potential drivers using company brochures, e-media, promotional items, and oral communication, so as to successfully recruit drivers to come to work for the company.
• Traveling to various trucking schools and seminars to present the company to potential drivers.
• Complete follow-up conversations with potential drivers using the telephone, mailing, or face-to-face communication.
• Communicating with the Driver Recruiting Department in Omaha so as to forward all paperwork for driver candidates, weekly expense reports, and any necessary follow-up information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of transportation and its terminology, usually gained through practical experience.
• Knowledge of recruiting techniques, recruiting laws, and D.O.T. standards for qualified drivers.
• Skill in operating a P.C. (Windows) and various office equipment.
• Excellent decision making skills and listening skills.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Good telephone communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business
Administration or equivalent experience preferred.
• Two to three years recruiting experience preferred.
• Two to three years transportation experience.
• Six months to one year P.C. experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Seeing and hearing: Read documents, computer screen answer phones, 75-100 % communicate in person.
Standing and walking. 25-49 %
Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling. 0-24 %
Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing. 75-100 %
Lift in excess of 10 pounds. 0-24 %
