Job Description
- This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Founding Senior Business Development Manager, Wealthroute based in the United States. This is a founding commercial role focused on building and scaling a high-growth financial advisor lead-generation business across the United States. You will own the full business development lifecycle, from identifying prospective partners and generating outreach to negotiating agreements and driving successful activation. The role is highly hands-on and offers the opportunity to shape the partner acquisition strategy, sales playbook, messaging, targeting, and operating model from the ground up. You will develop relationships with Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), wealth management firms, and other financial services organizations while helping them access new prospective clients. The position combines strategic market development with disciplined pipeline management, consultative selling, and commercial execution. You will work closely with leadership, marketing, paid search, and operations teams to align partner capacity with business growth. As the business expands, the role may evolve into broader commercial responsibilities and potential leadership opportunities.
- Accountabilities: Identify, research, and source prospective RIA firms, wealth management organizations, and other relevant financial services partners across the United States. Build and continuously expand a prioritized target account list using prospecting platforms, industry research, referrals, existing resources, and other sourcing channels. Assess prospective partners based on strategic fit, business model, capacity, growth potential, and ability to participate successfully in the program. Own the full sales cycle, including outbound prospecting, qualification, discovery, sales presentations, follow-up, negotiation, contracting, and partner activation. Conduct proactive outreach through email, phone, LinkedIn, referrals, and other appropriate channels to generate qualified sales opportunities. Lead consultative sales conversations, understand partner needs and economics, communicate the value proposition effectively, address objections, and guide prospects toward mutually beneficial agreements. Negotiate commercial terms in collaboration with internal leadership and ensure opportunities progress efficiently from initial engagement through signed agreement and launch. Coordinate smooth partner handoffs to account management, operations, and other relevant teams following activation. Help develop and refine a scalable business development playbook covering targeting, outreach, qualification, pitching, objection handling, negotiation, and partner activation. Test and improve sales messaging and processes based on market feedback, pipeline performance, and partner conversations. Establish effective processes, tools, reporting, and operating rhythms to maintain an organized and actionable sales pipeline. Develop a strong understanding of the RIA and broader wealth management ecosystem, identifying new market segments, partner profiles, and sourcing opportunities. Build relationships across the financial advisor community and capture market insights that can inform positioning, partner requirements, commercial strategy, and growth initiatives. Work closely with senior leadership on target accounts, pricing, commercial strategy, and partner prioritization. Coordinate with marketing, paid search, operations, and other internal teams to understand partner capacity, support onboarding, and facilitate successful activation. Provide regular reporting on pipeline development, qualified meetings, agreements, partner feedback, activation, and overall sales performance. Contribute to the development of a scalable business development organization as the business grows, with the potential to take on broader commercial or leadership responsibilities. Requirements: Bring approximately 3–5+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, partnerships, or a related commercial function. Demonstrate experience owning or making a meaningful contribution to a full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation, closing, and activation. Have strong outbound prospecting and pipeline-generation capabilities, with the ability to build opportunities proactively rather than relying primarily on inbound leads. Demonstrate the ability to communicate credibly with senior financial professionals, business owners, executives, and other sophisticated B2B buyers. Possess strong executive presence, commercial judgment, consultative selling skills, and relationship-building capabilities. Be confident leading discovery and sales conversations, handling objections, negotiating commercial terms, and closing agreements. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and disciplined pipeline management, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively. Be self-directed, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in an early-stage environment where processes and structures are still being developed. Have a strong interest in helping build a business development function from the ground up and contributing directly to commercial strategy and growth. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences. Experience with Registered Investment Advisors, financial advisors, wealth management, financial services, fintech, financial services partnerships, B2B SaaS, or consultative B2B sales is highly desirable. Direct experience selling to RIAs, financial advisors, wealth management firms, or other sophisticated financial services buyers is a strong advantage. Benefits: Founding-stage opportunity with significant ownership over partner acquisition strategy and commercial processes. Opportunity to shape the sales playbook, messaging, targeting, tools, and operating model from the ground up. High-impact role with direct contribution to revenue growth, partner acquisition, and expansion of financial advisor capacity. Potential to expand into broader commercial or business development leadership responsibilities as the business scales. Opportunity to build relationships across the U.S. financial advisor and wealth management ecosystem. Remote position based in the United States. The source posting does not specify a salary range, bonus structure, healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, paid leave, or other additional benefits.
