BidMachine is looking for a hands-on Head of Gaming Publisher Mediation to keep and grow the publishers that already run on our mediation platform.
This role owns new gaming publishers end to end on our mediation and direct-integration products. That means signing them with our sales team, choosing which direct integration path fits each one, getting the integration working, ramping the account, and handing it to the team that keeps it. It also owns the roadmap for the mediation product, so the person in the seat decides what the product fixes next for gaming publishers. Success is measured in incremental gross profit from the accounts this person brings live, per person in the squad. A signed deal is not the finish line. We need one person who can sell it and cares whether it works.
Pricing on direct traffic is moving from manual tuning to machine pricing. As more of the routine work is automated, this role concentrates on what stays human: the publisher relationship, the call on which integration path fits which publisher, and the product decisions on what to fix first. One honest note: direct gaming revenue starts close to zero, the core SDK is shared with other squads and slow to change, and much of the segment plan will be yours to write.
Location: Barcelona, Spain.
Key Responsibilities:
Sign new gaming publishers:
- Lead the sales effort for the gaming segment together with the sales team.
- Build and work the pipeline: which publishers to pursue, and why.
Integrate them directly:
- Choose the direct path that fits each publisher and is compliant for them, from priority access to post-bid to full mediation.
- Own onboarding and integration until it works for the publisher.
Earn direct access with publisher value:
- Win direct access by improving the publisher's own numbers, not by giving away margin.
- For gaming, that starts with ad caching.
Own the mediation improvements roadmap:
- Decide what the product needs next and in what order.
- Turn what publishers say into technical requirements the squad can ship.
Ramp and hand over:
- Take each account to fully ramped, then hand it to the account-retention squad with the terms written down.
Build and run a small squad:
- Choose the people you need across product, engineering and commercial work, and keep the squad as small as the job allows.
- Stay hands-on in at least one area of the squad's work.
Stay close to publishers and the market:
- Talk to gaming publishers every week: signed, in integration and in the pipeline.
- Track the mediation and bidding setups gaming publishers run today, and what competitors offer to keep them.
Requirements:
- Product and commercial ownership in one role. You have signed publishers or partners and owned whether the product worked for them.
- Mediation or direct-integration experience on the publisher side. Experience only on the exchange or SSP side isn't enough on its own.
- Experience with gaming publishers as customers.
- Technical literacy. You don't have to write code, but you have deployed something at some point and can turn publisher feedback into requirements engineers can ship.
- Commercial planning. You can write a plan with a baseline, a monetary goal and leading indicators, and you can tell incremental gross profit from revenue that only moved channel.
- Demonstrated AI experience, required. Practical, hands-on use in commercial or product work, with the ability to describe the specific workflows you improved, the results, and how you validated the output.
- Strong data analysis capability. You can pull and interrogate account-level revenue, share-of-wallet and margin data yourself, and explain to a publisher or a non-specialist what moved and why.
- Able to work office-first.
With a powerful product, strong market positioning, and a team that strives for excellence, BidMachine offers a unique opportunity to grow, innovate, and make a tangible impact in the programmatic advertising space.
