Job Description

Role Purpose

The IT Infrastructure Administrator owns the design, deployment, and ongoing operation of Omilia's core IT infrastructure — spanning on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of network, server, and cloud systems that underpin Omilia's internal operations and platform delivery, acting as the primary technical owner for infrastructure health and capacity.

Accountabilities

  • Owns the availability, performance, and security posture of Omilia's IT infrastructure across network, server, and cloud layers.
  • Accountable for infrastructure lifecycle management: capacity planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Responsible for backup integrity, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity across all managed systems.
  • Ensures infrastructure compliance with Omilia's security policies and relevant certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
  • Contributes to infrastructure strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities to improve resilience, efficiency, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain network infrastructure: LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and switching/routing equipment.
  • Manage server infrastructure (physical and virtual) including provisioning, patching, performance tuning, and decommissioning.
  • Administer cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, or Azure: compute, storage, networking, and IAM configurations.
  • Manage virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerisation environments where applicable.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions; conduct periodic DR tests and document outcomes.
  • Monitor infrastructure health using observability tools (e.g. Zabbix, Datadog, Grafana); respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents.
  • Enforce infrastructure security controls: patch management, vulnerability remediation, access hardening, and certificate management.
  • Manage on-premises and cloud storage solutions, ensuring data integrity, retention compliance, and performance.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation: network diagrams, runbooks, configuration baselines, and change records.
  • Support IT security audits and contribute infrastructure evidence to compliance programmes (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).

  • Solid experience with server administration on Linux and/or Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) at an administration level.
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with backup and DR tools and methodologies; experience designing or testing recovery procedures.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security principles: hardening, patch management, access controls, certificate lifecycle.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Methodical approach to documentation, change management, and incident response.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to diagnose complex infrastructure issues under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have:

  • Relevant certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, AWS/GCP/Azure Associate, VMware VCP, or equivalent.
