  • This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Manager of IT Engineering in the United States. This role leads the core IT engineering function that enables a fast-scaling, remote-first organization to operate securely, efficiently, and at high performance. You will oversee both strategy and hands-on execution across identity, endpoint management, SaaS administration, and internal IT tooling, ensuring employees have seamless access to the systems they rely on every day. Acting as a player-coach, you will guide a small team while directly contributing to critical technical work. The position plays a key role in strengthening security posture, audit readiness, and automation across IT operations. You will also help define and implement modern, AI-enabled IT practices in a highly distributed environment. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and employee experience.
  • Accountabilities: Lead the IT Engineering function as a player-coach, balancing hands-on technical execution with team leadership, prioritization, and operational excellence. Own identity and access management across platforms such as Okta and Google Workspace, ensuring secure, automated, and low-touch onboarding and offboarding workflows. Manage endpoint administration for a predominantly macOS fleet using MDM tools, maintaining compliance, security posture, and device reliability. Oversee SaaS administration, licensing, renewals, and access policies across core business tools to improve cost efficiency and governance. Drive IT operations performance, including service desk health, SLAs, queue management, and continuous improvement of support processes. Lead IT contributions to SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness, including audit evidence, access reviews, control testing, and documentation accuracy. Champion automation and AI-driven IT transformation, including scripting, internal tooling, and adoption of modern AI-enabled workflows. Ensure robust documentation, runbooks, and policies that enable scalable, repeatable, and audit-ready IT operations. Requirements The ideal candidate brings strong IT engineering expertise combined with leadership ability and a passion for automation and modern IT operations. You are comfortable working in distributed environments, building scalable systems, and improving employee experience through technology. 7+ years of experience in IT or IT engineering roles, with hands-on work across identity, endpoint management, and SaaS administration. Prior experience leading or mentoring teams in an IT or infrastructure environment. Strong hands-on experience with identity platforms such as Okta, Entra, or JumpCloud. Experience managing macOS device fleets using tools like Jamf, Kandji, or similar MDM solutions. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, and Atlassian administration. Ability to script in Python, Bash, or Zsh, with a focus on automation over manual administration. Working knowledge of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 controls and audit processes. Strong communication skills and experience working in highly documented, remote-first environments. Demonstrated use of AI tools in daily work to improve IT workflows, automation, or support operations.
