Job Description
About the Team
We are seeking a highly capable Mechanical Engineer to design and develop electrical interconnect systems for next-generation UAV platforms. This role focuses on wire harness architecture, connector integration, and packaging of electrical subsystems within tightly constrained vehicle structures. Emphasis is placed on reliability, efficient routing, thermal performance, and minimizing size and mass while maintaining durability in operational environments.
About the Role
The position operates in a fast-paced, prototype-driven engineering environment with strong emphasis on hands-on development. We provide access to electrical labs, harness fabrication tools, additive manufacturing, and in-house test capability to enable rapid concept-to-hardware iteration. The role offers autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership of critical interconnect subsystems from early architecture through validation.
You're excited about this opportunity because...
- Design and develop wire harness architectures and connector integration
- Optimize routing, strain relief, and packaging within complex assemblies
- Perform thermal simulations and physical testing to refine sizing and mass
- Build, route, and test harness prototypes and integration hardware
- Identify common interconnect failure modes and drive corrective design improvements
Own subsystems from concept through validation: CAD, prototyping, testing, and refinement - Collaborate with structures, systems, and test teams to refine requirements and interfaces
- Ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and serviceable
We're excited about you because...
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Strong 3D CAD skills for routing and packaged assemblies
- Experience designing and building wire harnesses and connector systems
- Experience running thermal simulations and validation testing
- Understanding of common harness and connector failure modes
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and electrical integration
- Strong understanding of manufacturability and assembly methods
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, prototype-centric environment
