Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize user interface components using React.js, Redux, TypeScript, and enterprise design system libraries.
- Participate with the integration of complex REST/SOAP APIs, VA enterprise services, and distributed systems.
- Attend system planning, architecture discussions, and end-to-end software development lifecycle activities.
- Mentor junior-level developers, conduct in-depth code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Partner with product owners, UX designers, backend teams, and stakeholders to refine requirements and shape user-focused solutions.
- Develop accurate estimates, technical approaches, and implementation plans for upcoming work.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, operational guides, and support materials.
- Oversee and participate in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing initiatives to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and system performance optimization.
- Assess system requirements, data flows, security implications, and application dependencies for ongoing modernization efforts.
- Maintain proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout delivery cycles.
- Lead sprint reviews, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies as a senior contributor.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5–8 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent.
- 5–8 years of experience building production-grade applications using React and Redux.
- Strong expertise with JavaScript/TypeScript, modern UI component patterns, and enterprise design systems.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor development teams.
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC best practices.
- Experience integrating with REST/SOAP APIs and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Experience in government cloud hosting environments, especially AWS.
- Proficiency with GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
Clearance Required:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting the VA, VA.gov platform, or other Federal agencies.
- Familiarity with VA enterprise systems such as CorpDB, MPI, BDN, or VBMS.
- Strong understanding of government networks, cloud infrastructure, and FedRAMP-compliant environments.
