Why Join AspenView?

At AspenView, we’re more than a nearshore IT partner—we’re a people-first, purpose-driven company that believes great culture drives great outcomes. We’re passionate about connecting talent and technology to deliver measurable value for clients—and meaningful career paths for our people.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive base
  • Flexible work model: hybrid, remote, or in-office
  • Real growth opportunities and leadership visibility
  • Inclusive, respectful culture that blends U.S. innovation with Colombian heart
  • A company that listens, invests in you, and celebrates wins together

The Network Engineer is a dedicated, hands-on professional responsible for modernizing and stabilizing a 30-building campus network currently managed by a single individual. Working directly with the client's CIO, you will take full ownership of the institution's wireless, switching, firewall policies, and Azure networking estate. This role moves beyond simple break-fix maintenance to drive structured change control, meaningful monitoring, and meticulous documentation. You will pair closely with a dedicated security engineer on the same account to ensure a resilient, secure hybrid infrastructure.

What you will do:

Campus Infrastructure & Lifecycle Management

  • Own and manage the campus LAN and wireless networks across roughly 30 buildings, including switching, VLANs, controllers, and access points.

  • Drive capacity and lifecycle planning for switches and access points, delivering structured refresh cases the client can budget against.

  • Generate and maintain current network diagrams and inventory, treating documentation as a continuous process rather than a future sprint.

Edge Security & Cloud Networking

  • Administer firewall rules and edge policies, reviewing them on a structured cycle with genuine change control practices.

  • Manage the Azure networking environment, including virtual networks, peering, VPNs, and the hybrid path from the campus to the cloud.

Observability & Operations

  • Transform existing SNMP polling and Grafana dashboards into actionable monitoring by tuning thresholds to real failure modes.

  • Partner with the CIO during an initial discovery quarter to capture and formalize undocumented network architecture.

Tools & Technologies:

  • Networking & Edge: Multi-building switching, controller-based wireless, and firewalls (Fortinet, Aruba, or Meraki platforms preferred).

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Azure virtual networks, VPN, and peering.

  • Observability: SNMP, NetFlow, and monitoring stacks such as Grafana, Zabbix, or LibreNMS.

  • Automation (Bonus): Infrastructure as code for network configuration (Ansible, Terraform).

What you bring:

  • Experience: Five or more years in enterprise or campus networking, with proven experience managing multi-building environments at scale.

  • Communication / Leadership: English fluency strong enough to explain complex design decisions to a non-technical CIO.

  • Mindset: Diligent and ownership-driven. You treat documentation and structured change control as foundational elements of good engineering, and you do not rely on "console-and-hope" administration.

  • Availability: Commitment to working standard US Central business hours.

Bonus Qualifications: CCNP certification or equivalent technical depth; previous experience with higher education, public sector, or E-Rate-funded estates.
