Job Description

What is the Role?

This is a remote clinical role sitting at the heart of the patient journey at Montu. As a New Patient Nurse, you will be the first clinical point of contact for patients seeking cannabis-based medical treatment. You will conduct structured video consultations to gather medical histories, assess suitability, and determine whether a patient is ready to progress to one of our consultants.

This role does not include prescribing or treatment delivery. What it does include is complex clinical decision-making, a fast-moving caseload, and patients who have often tried everything else before reaching us. You will need to be confident working autonomously, comfortable in a fully remote environment, and genuinely invested in getting the right outcome for every patient.

If you are looking for a quiet life, this is not the role for you. If you want to do meaningful clinical work from home and be part of a growing team that is changing how patients access medicine, it is.

This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week. You will be required to work 1 Saturday per month, for which a day in lieu will be provided. This role is fully remote.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Conducting video-based pre-assessment consultations with prospective patients

  • Taking detailed medical histories including current medications, relevant family history, and prior treatment

  • Assessing patient suitability for referral to Montu's clinical consultants

  • Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records

  • Guiding patients clearly through the onboarding process and answering clinical questions appropriately

  • Escalating safeguarding concerns and contraindications in line with Montu policy and national guidance

What You Need

Essential

  • NMC-registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience

  • UK-based nursing degree or equivalent qualification

  • Confident autonomous decision-maker with strong clinical reasoning

  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal

  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, tech-enabled environment including video platforms and EMRs

  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and clinical governance

Desirable

  • Experience in telehealth or remote patient consultations

  • Background in pain management, cannabis-based medicinal products, or complementary therapies

  • Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical setting
