Job Description

As a Senior Product Designer you will be the driving force behind our user experience. As a key member of the Product team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design culture, establishing scalable processes, and driving innovation across our platform. Beyond research and design, you will build a foundation for future growth by developing our design system and aligning closely with cross-functional teams.

If you are passionate about crafting intuitive user experiences, thrive in scale-up environments, and enjoy building systems from the ground up, we want to hear from you!

***Required*** Share a link to your portfolio or past projects so we can see how you bring ideas to life.

What You’ll Do

User Research & Workflow Mapping

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, including interviews, surveys, shadowing, and usage analytics to understand workflows and pain points.
  • Analyze findings to determine efficient, flexible, and consistent workflows that address user needs. Create design artifacts (user journeys, personas, storyboards, etc.) to communicate design concepts and strategies.

Design Creation

  • Translate research insights into polished, high-fidelity designs using Figma and similar tools.
  • Continuously refine ideas and designs by incorporating user feedback through usability testing, prototypes, and other interactive solutions.
  • Inspire internal and external stakeholders by presenting futuristic innovative ideas.

Design System & Style Guide Development

  • Evaluate, choose, and implement an industry-leading design system framework (such as Material UI, Ant Design, Chakra UI, or Tailwind CSS).
  • Maximize design and developer productivity by building a component library (in Storybook or similar tool). Populate both the design system and style guide with content, including typography, colour schemes, iconography, and component guidelines.
  • Ensure designs adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG guidelines) and support scalability across future platform iterations.

Asset Preparation & Delivery

  • Partner with developers to ensure smooth handoff and implementation of design assets.
  • Deliver all design assets, including annotated screens, style guides, workflows, and component libraries, ensuring the development team has everything needed for rapid implementation.

Collaboration & Testing

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align design goals with business objectives.
  • Help plan and execute beta testing to validate design effectiveness, iterating based on feedback to improve usability and satisfaction.

What You’ll Bring

  • 6+ years in a combined Product and/or UX design role, focusing on SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, and/or large- scale platform redesigns.
  • Expertise in creating and/or maintaining scalable design systems and style guides for SaaS platforms. Strong portfolio showcasing impactful UX design projects and case studies.
  • Research & Design: Expertise in user research methodologies, workflow mapping, wireframing, and prototyping.
  • Design Tools: Strong proficiency in Figma. Knowledge of Storybook (or similar platform) for creating and managing high-fidelity designs.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience creating components using Material UI, Tailwind CSS or other responsive design frameworks.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication and trustworthiness to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Presentation Skills: Strong storytelling and presentation abilities.
  • Leadership: Experience mentoring or leading design teams/projects.
  • Driven and results oriented: Comfortable with fast-paced, iterative development cycles and enjoys the collaborative energy of a growing start-up.

Bonus Points If You Have ✨

  • Track record of multi-persona research and design in B2B or B2B2C environments.
  • Proven experience with compliance-heavy or data-driven applications.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for enterprise platforms.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 2-4 times a year.

Compensation

In line with Ontario’s Pay Transparency legislation, the expected base compensation for this role is $115,000–$135,000 CAD annually, with actual earnings dependent on experience, skills, and performance.
