This role is part of a highly technical engineering environment focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of advanced optical and networking technologies. You will contribute directly to the validation of complex systems used in telecommunications, aerospace, and industrial applications, playing a key role in delivering robust and high-performing products. Working within a multidisciplinary test engineering team, you will engage in both automation development and hands-on testing activities across optical, software, and hardware domains. The environment is fast-paced and innovation-driven, requiring strong collaboration with R&D teams to identify issues, refine requirements, and enhance product quality. You will also help define and execute test strategies that ensure compliance with technical specifications and customer expectations. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies while directly influencing product reliability and user experience.
  • Accountabilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and tools using Python, C++, and Visual Studio to support verification and validation activities. Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases, including requirement analysis in collaboration with product and R&D teams. Perform functional, regression, performance, and characterization testing across optical systems, networking platforms, and web-based GUI interfaces. Set up, configure, and operate optical test equipment and instrumentation to validate product performance and compliance. Conduct both automated and manual testing when necessary, ensuring complete coverage of system behavior and edge cases. Identify, document, and track defects, while working closely with developers to isolate, reproduce, and resolve issues. Generate and present clear test reports, findings, and quality metrics to stakeholders to support decision-making and product improvement. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5+ years of experience in software or test engineering with strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Visual Studio development environments. Hands-on experience with test planning, test strategy development, and execution in complex technical systems. Familiarity with optical instrumentation, telecommunications systems, or network testing environments is highly preferred. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail with a focus on product quality. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional engineering teams. Experience working in Agile development environments and managing priorities in fast-paced settings. Benefits: Competitive salary range aligned with experience and qualifications (approx. 78,400–145,600 CAD). Comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance. Retirement savings plan and bonus eligibility. Paid time off and additional leave benefits. Opportunity to work on advanced optical and networking technologies with global impact. Collaborative, innovation-driven engineering culture with strong R&D partnership. Inclusive workplace committed to equal opportunity and professional growth.
