Job Description
  • This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant (US GAAP | Big 4 Required) in United States. This role offers a high-impact opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of financial accuracy within a fast-growing real estate investment environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will serve as a key control point for financial integrity, ensuring that accounting records are precise, consistent, and aligned with US GAAP standards across multiple entities. You will work closely with bookkeeping teams and senior finance leadership to strengthen close processes, improve reporting quality, and enhance internal controls. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive accountant who thrives in fast-paced, scaling environments and is confident operating beyond transactional work. You will play a critical role in identifying issues early, enforcing structure, and supporting leadership with reliable financial insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Accountabilities: Review, validate, and approve financial statements prepared by bookkeeping teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP standards. Oversee general ledger integrity across multiple entities, ensuring consistency, completeness, and proper classification of financial data. Lead and enforce monthly close processes, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and high-quality outputs. Perform and review complex reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts. Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies proactively to prevent reporting errors and financial misstatements. Support the application and interpretation of US GAAP within a multi-entity real estate investment structure. Partner with accounting leadership to enhance financial reporting accuracy, controls, and operational efficiency. Provide structured feedback and guidance to bookkeeping teams to improve processes, consistency, and performance. Assist in the design and improvement of internal controls, accounting workflows, and documentation standards. Support audit preparation activities and ensure financial records are audit-ready and compliant. Analyze financial data to identify risks, inconsistencies, and process gaps requiring correction or improvement. Contribute to the transition from outsourced accounting processes to more structured internal accounting operations. Requirements: Big Four audit or public accounting experience is required. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in accounting or senior accounting roles with hands-on financial oversight responsibilities. Strong, practical knowledge and application of US GAAP in real-world accounting environments. Proven experience reviewing, validating, and signing off on financial statements, not solely preparing them. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks or similar ERP systems (QuickBooks strongly preferred). Strong Excel skills, including financial analysis, reconciliations, and data validation. Experience working with ERP systems such as Sage, Xero, or comparable platforms. Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and financial integrity. Highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently. Ability to thrive in fast-paced, scaling, and startup-like environments with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution. Experience in real estate, multi-entity accounting, or property management environments is a plus. Familiarity with audit processes and supporting audit readiness initiatives is preferred. Benefits: Fully remote role within the Americas region with aligned working hours. Opportunity to play a key financial leadership role in a fast-growing real estate investment platform. Exposure to multi-entity accounting and complex financial structures. Career growth potential within a scaling and dynamic organization. Collaborative environment working closely with senior finance leadership. Opportunity to strengthen and build accounting processes, controls, and systems. Hands-on experience with US GAAP in a high-responsibility role. Competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise.
