Responsibilities

  • WAN/transport design recommendations for mission networks: site connectivity, segmentation, resiliency, performance engineering across classified and unclassified enclaves.
  • L0 circuit configurations, including CLLI circuit route options across CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Optimized WAN transport design using Optical Transport Network (OTN) and ITU-T standards G.709, G.798, G.872; plus MPLS/IP, Ethernet, VPN/IPsec, SDWAN, SASE/SSE.
  • WAN work package deliverables: HLD/LLD, logical/physical diagrams, IP plans, routing/QoS policies, security boundary requirements, BOM/part lists, rack elevations, configuration templates, interface cut sheets.
  • Methods of Procedure (MOPs), implementation plans, cutover schedules, rollback procedures, and test/validation plans.
  • Network engineering compliance evidence: configuration baselines, implementations, boundary descriptions, and support.
  • Tier 3/4 troubleshooting and root cause analysis (routing instability, path asymmetry, MTU, encryption overlays, QoS, and provider impairments).
  • WAN capacity planning: bandwidth, optical/Carrier Ethernet capacity, routing headroom, power/cooling, and lifecycle/EOL.
  • L0 circuit delivery/integration/activation coordination, as-built documentation.
