Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Electro-Mechanical Engineer to design, implementation and launch novel robotics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sensor selection, design and integration. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a multidisciplinary team setting. Key job responsibilities - Author functional requirements, design verification plans and test procedures - Execute product designs which meet the requirements - Build and test electromechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems - Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments - Work efficiently to support rapid schedules
Basic Qualifications
  • - Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - 10+ years of experience selecting, designing and integrating sensors into robotic systems. - Expert in rotary encoders, force sensors, tactile sensors and non-contact sensors typically found in robotic grippers/hands - Deep understanding of sensor sensitivities (e.g. to thermal conditions, specular conditions, etc) and nonlinearities - Understanding of the durability and resilience of these sensors - Experience designing durable wire harnesses which maintain sensor signal integrity throughout operation - Hands on experience crafting proof-of-concept models, building prototypes and debugging subsystems
