Description
  • At Amazon we strive to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our passion for invention leads us to continually pioneer and globalise new businesses and customer offerings. As a result, Amazon continues to grow and evolve across many different business lines. In supporting this growth and evolution, Amazon Finance Operations (FinOps) goal is to deliver seamless procure-to-pay, order- to-cash and payroll processes that enable geographic and market expansion across all Amazon's businesses, from Retail, Digital and Advertising through to AWS and Logistics, while ensuring regulatory and legal compliance. As part of this growth we now seek a Customer Obsessed, Results Driven Senior Program Manager for our FinOps Program Management Office (PMO) in the LATAM region. This is no ordinary Program Management role. You will own the lifecycle of complex, cross-functional programs that touch every aspect of our diverse, fast-paced global operations — from defining program strategy and vision through to sustained delivery and continuous improvement. As a Senior Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale business transformations, working backwards from the core problem to challenge assumptions, develop clear program tenets, and make smart trade-offs between competing priorities. You will leverage AI as a force multiplier across the entire delivery lifecycle — not as a peripheral tool, but as an integral part of how you plan, coordinate, track, communicate, and deliver. From generating and stress-testing program plans, to automating status aggregation across workstreams, to producing launch readiness assessments and synthesising post-launch operational data into actionable improvements — you will set the standard for AI-augmented program delivery. You will bring high judgment to distinguish between one-way and two-way door decisions, driving rapid experimentation where possible while ensuring rigour for irreversible choices. You will take calculated risks in pursuit of breakthrough results, understanding that significant progress on a bold objective often creates more value than perfectly delivering incremental improvements. Are you ready to redefine what's possible in Program Management? Apply now and join the Amazon team driving the future of global technology and innovation. Who Are We Looking For? The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated ability to manage the lifecycle of complex, cross-functional programs with considerable business impact. You will have a proven track record of delivering large-scale, highly complex business program implementations in fast-paced, deadline-driven and virtual environments, ideally involving systems development and integration. You will demonstrate: • Active, demonstrable use of AI across the program delivery lifecycle — from planning and dependency mapping through to launch coordination, status synthesis, risk identification, and post-launch analysis. We do not want someone who knows about AI; we want someone who delivers programs differently because of it. • The ability to work backwards from the problem — challenging assumptions about how things have been done, questioning whether existing approaches are still the right ones, and designing solutions from the core problem rather than defaulting to precedent. • High-judgment decision-making — distinguishing reversible from irreversible decisions, applying appropriate rigour to each, and driving decisions confidently when data is incomplete. • A metrics-driven approach that goes beyond tracking numbers to designing measurement frameworks that distinguish output metrics (delivery completion) from outcome metrics (business impact, stakeholder satisfaction) — while knowing when to trust judgment over data. • The ability to distil complex scenarios into clear, compelling narratives and communicate persuasively at all levels — from technical engineering teams to VPs. • A track record of force multiplication — creating mechanisms, frameworks, and reusable approaches that deliver value beyond a single program. • Superior influencing and interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts, build consensus across organizations with different priorities, and drive cross-functional decision making without authority. Key job responsibilities Your responsibilities will span seven core dimensions: • Stakeholder & Customer Understanding: Engage systematically with stakeholders across FinOps and partner organisations to understand business problems, constraints, and scaling factors. Gather requirements from diverse personas, distinguish representative signal from isolated requests, and drive mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions and aligned outcomes. • Systems & Technical Awareness: Understand the systems landscape deeply — automation limitations, integration dependencies, and scaling factors. Leverage AI across the full program lifecycle: generating and stress-testing program plans, mapping dependency chains, automating status aggregation, accelerating testing coordination, producing launch readiness assessments, and synthesising post-launch data into actionable recommendations. • Strategic Thinking & Decision-Making: Work backwards from the problem — questioning proposals and testing assumptions rather than perpetuating approaches because "that is how it has always been done." Distinguish between one-way and two-way door decisions, develop clear program tenets that guide prioritisation, and make smart trade-offs between time, effort, and deliverables with measurable success criteria. • Solution Design & Process Architecture: Design scalable program mechanisms that create predictable process paths and ensure long-term success. Streamline or eliminate excess process, steer teams away from classic failure modes, and continually strengthen FinOps PMO effectiveness by delivering innovative, think-big improvement opportunities. • Metrics & Judgment: Design measurement frameworks that distinguish output metrics from outcome metrics. Identify the highest-leverage input metrics, use AI to synthesise cross-team status inputs and identify leading indicators of delivery risk, and drive decisions confidently when data is incomplete — using judgment calibrated by experience. • Execution & Results Delivery: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver highly complex, large-scale programs from initiation through to delivery, on time and with quality. Take calculated risks where bold programmatic moves could deliver disproportionate impact, use AI to amplify personal capacity across the delivery lifecycle, and learn systematically from outcomes. • Cross-Functional Leadership: Effectively communicate with and influence senior, VP-level stakeholders across multiple parts of the organisation. Write effective narratives, influence without authority across organisations with different priorities, and actively mentor and develop others.
