This role is part of a mission-driven engineering team building advanced web applications that support global monitoring and intelligence solutions powered by satellite data. You will take ownership of front-end architecture and development for a high-impact application used by defense and intelligence users worldwide. The position combines deep technical execution with technical leadership, including mentoring engineers and shaping frontend best practices. You will design and deliver scalable, responsive, and data-rich interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers. This is a remote-first opportunity with expectations for occasional in-office collaboration if located near a hub. The role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of UI excellence, system design, and real-world impact.
- Accountabilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced front-end features for a mission-critical web application. Build and maintain scalable applications using React, TypeScript, and component-based architecture principles. Define and evolve frontend architecture, including state management, performance optimization, and UI consistency standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend engineering to deliver end-to-end solutions. Mentor and guide other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and best practices in frontend development. Contribute to API integration and backend systems when needed to ensure seamless user experiences. Participate in technical decision-making and help drive long-term frontend strategy. Requirements: 10+ years of experience building modern web applications in production environments. Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design. Experience leading complex frontend feature development from discovery through deployment. Solid understanding of state management patterns and data fetching strategies. Experience integrating with REST APIs and working in distributed system environments. Proven ability to mentor engineers and elevate team technical capabilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD practices, and modern frontend tooling.
