Job Description
Treantly is a Canadian-based recruitment agency that facilitates the connection between businesses in North America and exceptional remote staff in the Philippines.
We are looking for a creative, fast, and internet-savvy Short-Form Video Editor / Livestream Clipper who can turn long livestreams, recordings, and creator content into highly engaging short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.
This is not a traditional video editing role where you simply follow a script. We need a content hunter—someone who can watch long-form content, spot the funniest, most emotional, awkward, intense, dramatic, or highly entertaining moments, and edit them in a way that makes people stop scrolling.
The ideal candidate understands livestream culture, Twitch/Kick-style humor, TikTok pacing, meme formats, creator content, and how to make a simple moment feel more exciting, dramatic, or shareable without misrepresenting the original context.
Key Responsibilities
- Watch livestreams, recordings, and long-form videos to identify the strongest clip-worthy moments
- Independently review 4–8 hours of raw footage daily to find high-retention hooks, emotional peaks, funny moments, reactions, or viral-style snippets
- Turn long-form content into short-form clips for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook
- Edit clips to highlight emotion, tension, humor, conflict, excitement, awkwardness, or strong reactions
- Use zoom-ins, jump cuts, captions, sound effects, memes, music, pacing, and visual emphasis to make clips more engaging
- Create strong openings that grab attention within the first few seconds
- Add captions, subtitles, on-screen text, emojis, motion graphics, and visual callouts when needed
- Format videos properly for vertical viewing, especially 9:16 short-form platforms
- Identify trending audio, meme formats, and viral editing styles on TikTok/Reels and apply them to creator footage quickly
- Maintain the natural flow and context of the original content while making the clip more entertaining
- Follow the client’s brand style, tone, and preferred editing format
- Deliver edited clips quickly and manage multiple clips or batches of content as needed
- Stay updated on livestream clipping trends, creator content, meme culture, social media formats, and audience retention techniques
- Proven experience editing livestream clips, creator content, podcast clips, gaming clips, reaction videos, or short-form social media videos
- Strong ability to identify “viral gold” moments from long-form content without needing exact timestamps
- High internet IQ and strong understanding of Twitch, Kick, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, creator culture, and chat humor
- Good sense of emotion, timing, humor, drama, pacing, and audience retention
- Experience editing for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, or similar platforms
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing tools
- Able to turn a live or recorded moment into a finished short-form video quickly, ideally within 30 minutes when needed
- Skilled in adding captions, zooms, sound effects, music, memes, transitions, and visual emphasis
- Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, storytelling, and short-form video structure
- Able to make a clip feel more entertaining without making it misleading or fake
- Detail-oriented, creative, fast, and able to work independently
- Comfortable reviewing long livestreams or recordings to find the best moments
Nice to Have
- Experience editing gaming, sports, gambling/card games, streamer, creator, or entertainment content
- Familiarity with meme-style editing and viral short-form formats
- Experience using AI clipping tools, auto-captioning tools, or content repurposing tools
- Basic motion graphics or thumbnail design experience
- Understanding of social media analytics, watch time, retention, and engagement metrics
- Strong awareness of creators or streamers with successful clipping teams and what makes their clips work
