- The EU Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) Team is seeking a motivated and experienced EU Donations and Product Disposal Ban Risk Manager. The ideal candidate has thorough knowledge of EU member state waste management regulations, product disposal bans, and relevant environmental laws to ensure a compliant field donations program across Amazon EU operations. This individual contributor will own the EU field donations standards and procedures, partnering with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that ensure correct coverage of field donations across all EU sites. They will work closely with the WW Unsellables team to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies that enhance donation capabilities while maintaining compliance with evolving EU product disposal regulations. They will monitor field donations execution with robust metrics to ensure compliance with regional and local requirements, using data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement. They will serve as the formal EAP partner to cross-functional organizations involved in product disposal ban compliance, building trusted relationships that enable excellent outcomes for Amazon and our designated charity partners. In this role, they will use your expertise to provide insights for enhanced donation management practices while ensuring alignment with EU regulations, product disposal bans, and internal policies. They will obsess over our customers (internal and external) and work backward from customer needs to create world-class processes that maximize donations and minimize waste across the EU region. Key job responsibilities Standards and Procedures Ownership: Develops and maintains EU field donations standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with regional regulations and product disposal ban requirements. Coverage Strategy: Creates strategies to ensure correct field donations coverage across EU sites, identifying gaps and expansion opportunities. Technology Integration: Partners with the WW Unsellables team to evaluate emerging technologies, providing EU-specific insights for successful regional implementation. Compliance Monitoring: Monitors field donations execution across EU sites through regular assessments and audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks. Cross-Functional Partnership: Serves as the formal EAP partner to organizations involved in product disposal ban compliance, including Operations, Legal, Sustainability, and site leadership. Reporting and Analytics: Tracks donation program performance using data to anticipate changes in donatable product volumes and compliance requirements. Risk Management: Identifies compliance risks related to EU product disposal bans and develops mitigation strategies. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaises with EU regulatory agencies, designated charities, and internal stakeholders on donation program needs and compliance. Training and Education: Develops training content on EU donation management practices, product disposal ban requirements, and regulatory compliance. Policy Development: Develops EU-specific policies and procedures for donation management and product disposal ban compliance, ensuring alignment with regional regulations and WW standards. A day in the life You analyze donation metrics across EU Operations, spotting opportunities to scale the program and address compliance gaps. Data drives your decisions as you collaborate with Operations, Legal, Sustainability teams, and charity partners to solve complex challenges at the intersection of compliance, efficiency, and environmental impact. You evaluate emerging technologies, develop strategies to expand coverage to new sites, and build frameworks that enable scalable growth. When challenges arise, regulatory changes, audit findings, process bottlenecks, you design solutions that strengthen the program. Basic Qualifications
- - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - Experience in risk management, audit, legal, compliance or a related field including engaging with external stakeholders - 6+ years of donations or waste compliance, audit or risk management experience. - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience interfacing with site and regional leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification - Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent - Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field - 8+ years of donations and waste management in EU, alongside product disposal ban regulations.
