Description
- Join a team building the systems that power pricing and portfolio decisions for every Amazon Device — Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, Ring, Blink, and more. We're hiring an engineer who wants to own high-impact, full-stack features in an AI-first culture where you ship fast and your work directly shapes business outcomes at Amazon scale. We are the PPO (Prelaunch Portfolio Orchestration) team within DSO (Demand Science Optimization). Our systems power pricing management, product lifecycle date management, and portfolio decision-making workflows across all Amazon Devices. We serve product line leaders, finance teams, and demand planners — enabling them to manage critical business inputs at scale. We are building in one of the most exciting eras for software engineering. AI is fundamentally changing how we build, ship, and operate software — and our team is leaning into that shift. Engineers here have the opportunity to be part of the AI flywheel: using AI tools to accelerate their own productivity while building AI-powered capabilities that transform how our business stakeholders make decisions. Key job responsibilities - Own features end-to-end — from requirements gathering and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support - Design, build, and operate full-stack features across core services and user-facing applications - Work closely with product managers, scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality software that directly impacts business decisions - Participate in system design, write production code, conduct code reviews, and continuously improve development practices - Leverage AWS infrastructure — including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, among others — to build systems that handle large-scale data processing and real-time user workflows - Contribute to operational excellence by improving deployment processes, monitoring, and the reliability of production services A day in the life You are a curious, ownership-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple active workstreams. You enjoy working across the stack — from React/TypeScript frontends to Java/Python backend services. You are comfortable diving into unfamiliar codebases, collaborating across teams, and making pragmatic tradeoffs to deliver on tight timelines. You see AI as a multiplier — not just a feature to build, but a tool that makes you a better engineer every day.
Basic Qualifications
- - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Experience with full-stack development (React/TypeScript + Java or Python backends) - Familiarity with GenAI tooling is a plus - Experience owning and operating production services Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
