The AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) is one of the fastest-growing AWS businesses, providing super-simple provisioning and management for relational databases in the cloud. Customers can set up a new database with just a few clicks, and complex administrative tasks like scaling, fail-over, and monitoring are all handled in an automated fashion by our control systems. As a software developer in the RDS team in Dublin, you will get to design, develop and deploy quality solutions that help external and internal customer interface with the RDS service at scale via API and graphical interfaces. AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) is a part of AWS Utility Computing (UC) which provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services. Basic Qualifications
- - Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team - Experience in professional, non-internship software development - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
