This role sits at the core of a highly scalable, distributed systems environment focused on building next-generation backend services that power durable execution and cross-application orchestration. You will help design and implement critical components of a multi-tenant platform that enables reliable workflow execution across teams, systems, and protocols. The work is highly technical and deeply rooted in distributed systems engineering, concurrency, and API design. You will collaborate closely with a highly collaborative engineering organization working across cloud and enterprise offerings, contributing to both on-premise and cloud-native deployments. The environment emphasizes reliability, observability, and operational excellence, with a strong culture of written communication and thoughtful system design. • Accountabilities: Design, build, and maintain core backend services for a distributed, multi-tenant platform focused on durable execution and workflow orchestration. Develop high-quality, well-tested features with strong coverage across unit, integration, and performance testing. Implement scalable APIs and backend components using modern systems programming languages such as Go or Java. Ensure operational readiness of services by producing logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks. Document system design decisions and operational practices to support reliability and maintainability in production environments. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evolve architecture and deliver new platform capabilities. Contribute to improving observability, debugging, and fault isolation across distributed systems. Participate in code reviews and uphold strong engineering standards for reliability and performance. Requirements: 3+ years of experience building and maintaining highly scalable distributed systems in production environments. 4+ years of experience developing customer-facing APIs, services, or frameworks. Strong computer science fundamentals, particularly in distributed systems, concurrency, and multi-threading. Strong programming skills in Go, Java, or similar languages used in high-performance backend systems. Experience designing, implementing, and operating production-grade backend services in cloud environments. Strong testing discipline, including unit, integration, and performance testing practices. Ability to write clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively in highly distributed teams. Experience with observability tooling such as logging, metrics, and alerting systems. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building reliable, developer-focused infrastructure. Benefits: Competitive salary ranging from $146,000 to $200,000 USD.
