Quality assurance and compliance: Verify that sourced materials meet project specifications, quality expectations, and applicable health and sustainability standards. Arrange pre-shipment inspections, address supplier quality issues, and confirm compliance with relevant U.S. building codes and certification requirements where applicable. Process development and optimization: Establish practical, reliable workflows and tracking systems for suppliers, purchase orders, budgets, and shipments. Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs, shorten lead times, improve supplier performance, and strengthen supply chain reliability as project operations expand. Cross-functional collaboration: Work proactively with architects, engineers, construction professionals, finance teams, and international vendors to resolve sourcing challenges, communicate critical updates, and prevent material shortages or delivery-related project delays. Requirements: Relevant experience: 3–6 years of professional experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within construction, real estate development, or building materials. International sourcing expertise: Hands-on experience working with overseas manufacturers and suppliers, including international procurement, export sourcing, or cross-border purchasing. Logistics and trade knowledge: Working knowledge of international shipping, freight forwarding, import and export documentation, and customs clearance procedures. Negotiation and supplier management: Strong negotiation skills, commercial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple suppliers, compare competing offers, and secure favorable pricing and delivery terms. Technical understanding: Ability to interpret construction material specifications, technical data sheets, samples, and certification requirements, and to identify discrepancies or request clarification when needed. Analytical and organizational skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for managing procurement trackers, cost comparisons, order statuses, budgets, and delivery schedules. Regulatory awareness: Experience sourcing materials for U.S. construction projects or familiarity with U.S. building codes, material certifications, and compliance standards is a significant advantage. Autonomy and adaptability: Ability to work independently, establish processes from scratch, solve problems resourcefully, and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment. Communication and collaboration: Strong written and spoken English skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with international suppliers, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders across different time zones and cultural contexts. Availability: Must be ready to join immediately or within 30 days of receiving an offer. Working arrangement: Comfortable working remotely from India with flexible hours that allow for regular overlap with the U.S.-based team. Benefits: Competitive compensation: Monthly cost-to-company (CTC) ranging from INR 1,90,600 to INR 2,38,250, depending on experience and interview performance. Remote-first flexibility: Work from anywhere in India, with flexible working hours and planned overlap with the U.S. team. Full-time opportunity: Take on a central role in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain operations for residential construction projects. Meaningful impact: Contribute to projects that emphasize healthier living environments, sustainable building materials, clean water systems, and environmentally conscious development. Ownership and autonomy: Build sourcing strategies, supplier networks, procurement workflows, and logistics processes with significant responsibility for operational outcomes. International collaboration: Work with a geographically distributed team of professionals across architecture, engineering, design, construction, and finance. Professional growth: Develop expertise in global sourcing, international logistics, supplier negotiations, construction procurement, and sustainable materials.
