- This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Backend Engineer - Platform in India. This is a high-impact backend engineering role focused on building and scaling the core platform infrastructure of a fast-growing open-source observability product. You will work on the systems that power billing, authentication, RBAC, automation, and large-scale SaaS operations serving thousands of customers globally. The environment is deeply technical, remote-first, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on ownership and end-to-end execution. You will help design and evolve distributed backend services capable of handling massive observability data workloads at scale. The role involves working closely with engineers who are passionate about developer tooling, performance, and system reliability. It is an opportunity to shape foundational platform capabilities that directly influence product adoption and user experience worldwide.
- Accountabilities: Take ownership of core platform backend systems and build scalable services supporting SaaS operations, including billing, auth, RBAC, caching, and automation while ensuring reliability and performance at scale. Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Go, contributing to APIs, infrastructure components, and distributed systems powering high-volume observability workloads. Improve SaaS scalability and robustness, including ingest pipelines, burst handling, and data freshness for large-scale telemetry processing. Build and evolve integration ecosystems by creating reusable patterns, templates, and tooling that enable seamless adoption across customer environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote-first setup, driving initiatives end-to-end from problem discovery and system design to implementation and production rollout. Requirements: 5–8 years of backend engineering experience with strong expertise in Go and a deep understanding of concurrency, performance optimization, and distributed systems. Proven experience building scalable, production-grade systems with clean architecture and strong engineering fundamentals. Ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives end-to-end while making thoughtful design and trade-off decisions. Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively in distributed teams. Comfort working in fast-paced, high-ownership environments; experience in open-source contributions is highly valued. Nice to have: exposure to observability systems, OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, Kafka, Kubernetes, or platform teams in high-growth startups.
