Description
- Amazon Leo is a long-term Amazon program to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO); providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Direct-to-Device (D2D) is Leo's initiative to enable standard smartphones and IoT devices to connect directly to satellites, filling coverage gaps in remote areas. As an FPGA engineer for D2D, you will collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineering design teams & FW/SW teams to bring up and test complex systems combining FPGAs, custom ASICs, and RF. Additionally, you will: - Lead the design and implementation of complex real-time embedded systems - Lead the design and implementation of programable logic for next generation antenna systems - Design software for high-volume phased array manufacturing - Develop calibration software for on-orbit applications - Characterize subsystems and systems related to antennas - Design automation for 2D and 3D structures - Develop bring up tools and testing for phased array systems Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key job responsibilities In this role, you will: - Have ownership of one or more FPGA bitstreams - Collaborate with network communication system architects to define and design/implement/test/release/support networking functions targeted to FPGA technology - Collaborate with RF and Digital Communications engineers to implement digital logic functions in FPGAs - Drive trade-off analysis to benefit the Customer experience
Basic Qualifications
