Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Mission Coordinator 

Labor Category: Exempt

Travel: 25%


About the Role 

Provide on-site leadership and coordination of training operations, mission planning support, range utilization, and workforce management, serving as the primary liaison among operational units, stakeholders, and labor partners to ensure compliant, mission-ready execution of training activities.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Create, update, and maintain training materials in multiple formats (written, photos, audio, video, and mixed media) to support mission planning.
  • Help users understand range capabilities, equipment, and operating procedures; support training planning, scenarios, and exercises.
  • Participate in pre-mission meetings and coordinate training system assets to ensure missions are properly prepared.
  • Communicate daily with aviation units, air traffic control, and other supporting organizations to ensure schedules and participants are aligned.
  • Track range usage in computer databases and prepare reports on availability, scheduling, and utilization.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings on system capabilities and requirements to military and government audiences, including senior leaders and VIPs.
  • Train on-site personnel on the use of display consoles and training equipment, and conduct equipment demonstrations for authorized users.
  • Distribute mission scenarios and updates efficiently, gather mission results, and conduct post-mission debriefings.
  • Serve as the on-site lead with supervisory responsibility for assigned teams, managing daily operations, resources, workforce planning, hiring, training, performance management, budget oversight, and conflict resolution to meet program objectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison among exempt and non-exempt employees, union leadership, prime contractor leadership, and KIRA corporate support functions, ensuring clear communication and operational alignment.
  • In coordination with Human Resources and Labor Relations, oversee and interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policy, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting or coordinating Department of Defense (DoD) training or exercise activities.
  • Proven experience in mission planning and execution for Fleet synthetic training events.
  • Working knowledge of Navy Training Baseline modeling and simulation tools and their application to Fleet synthetic training.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills demonstrating the ability to interface and collaborate with customers and colleagues on technical and cybersecurity matters
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or a related field.
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret or Top Secret Clearance, as required. 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed remotely or in an office or secure government facility, with required adherence to security protocols and controlled-access environments.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or desk. 
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and handling paperwork. 
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules, when necessary, to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
