- As part of the Amazon-wide Amzonian Leadership Experiences team, the Shared Services team’s mission is to build the cross-cutting capabilities across STT that enables partner teams with out of box functions. We develop philosophies, mechanisms and products that guide leaders to inspect and make data-driven decisions to improve their organizational operating models, executive talent and workforce planning solutions. A successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and launch of a variety of core product features, designing the system architecture, and promoting code quality and best practices. Key job responsibilities Proficiency in Java or any other object oriented programming is required, and the ideal candidate is an expert in at least one of these languages. Work closely with senior engineers, UX designers and product managers to develop friendly UI experiences. Work closely with engineers to architect and develop the best technical design. Develop/maintain operational rigor for the rigor of a fast-growing Amazon Search stack. Help with hiring and mentoring. Take user-facing features from design to implementation, coding both the UI and backend functionality. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Basic Qualifications
- - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
