In this role, you will contribute to the design and evolution of high-performance APIs and data-driven systems that power large-scale digital health platforms. You will help build and maintain services that enable seamless access to complex healthcare data, ensuring it is reliable, scalable, and usable across multiple applications. The position involves working on distributed systems, data pipelines, and API architecture that support both internal and external integrations. You will play a key role in improving system performance, optimizing data delivery, and ensuring high standards of reliability and security. Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you will help shape technical direction and drive engineering best practices. This is a high-impact role in a mission-driven environment focused on improving healthcare accessibility through data and AI.
• Accountabilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and backend services supporting healthcare data platforms. Contribute to the evolution of RESTful APIs, improving structure, usability, versioning, and performance. Build and enhance data pipelines and transformation workflows supporting API and file-based data delivery. Implement scalable integration patterns for internal systems and external data exchange. Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability as data volumes and product complexity grow. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, API, and data-related issues across distributed environments. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with governance and regulatory standards. Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions. Apply AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve engineering efficiency and output quality. Requirements: 7–8 years of strong software engineering experience with proficiency in Python or NodeJS. Experience designing and developing high-availability, external-facing RESTful APIs. Strong understanding of API design principles including versioning, pagination, and backward compatibility. Hands-on experience with data systems and pipelines at scale. Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow. Experience with containerization and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform. Solid understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL. Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., CircleCI), Git, and JIRA workflows. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues. Exposure to ElasticSearch, ETL pipelines, or healthcare/data delivery systems is a plus.
