Job Description
- This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Accountant based in India. This fully remote accounting role supports accurate and timely financial close activities within a fast-paced global organization. You’ll take ownership of key balance sheet and income statement accounts while contributing to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The position combines journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with opportunities to improve accounting systems and processes. You’ll work with tools such as NetSuite while supporting audits, tax filings, and other financial initiatives. The role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. As the position aligns regularly with U.S. Eastern business hours, it is primarily a night-shift opportunity for professionals based in India.
- Accountabilities: Execute accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses for areas such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, credit cards, and intangible assets. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support an efficient and accurate accounting close process. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility. Provide supporting information for financial statement audits and tax filings as required. Help optimize existing accounting platforms and workflows, including the use of NetSuite, Floqast, and Navan. Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects and other finance initiatives as needed. Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation, and financial controls across assigned activities. Requirements: 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a corporate accounting environment. Required hands-on experience with NetSuite. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with financial data and reconciliations. Solid understanding of accounting close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work primarily during U.S. Eastern business hours, including a typical India night shift of approximately 6:30 PM–3:30 AM IST during U.S. daylight saving time and 7:30 PM–4:30 AM IST during standard time. Willingness to provide additional flexibility during quarter-end and year-end close periods. Experience with Floqast and Navan Expense & Travel is a plus. CPA qualification and Big Four experience are advantageous but not required. Benefits: Fully remote position based in India. Full-time employment.
