As a Staff Accountant in our Guatemala City office, you will play a key role in ensuring local statutory compliance and financial integrity, while partnering closely with our US-based accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a global environment, gain exposure to multinational accounting practices, and directly impact the financial operations of a high-growth tech company.
Requirements
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA candidate preferred)
- 2+ years of accounting experience with direct exposure to Guatemalan tax regulations and SAT filings
- Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Experience working with payroll, statutory deductions, and compliance processes
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- IVA, ISR, and SAT compliance requirements
- Payroll regulations (IGSS, IRTRA, INTECAP)
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Familiarity with SAT digital platforms (FEL, DECLARAGUATE, BANGUAT) is a plus
- Exposure to US GAAP or multinational accounting environments is preferred
Core Competencies
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Clear communication in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-cultural, remote teams
