The Staff Software Engineer will work across the full stack to design, build, and optimize scalable backend microservices and responsive frontend applications that power a complex, data-driven platform. You will play a key role in architectural decisions, ensuring systems are secure, performant, and maintainable while supporting long-term product growth. This position requires close collaboration with product, design, and engineering peers to translate business needs into high-quality technical solutions. You will also act as a technical leader, mentoring engineers and raising the bar for engineering excellence. • Accountabilities: Contribute hands-on to full stack development, building and maintaining scalable backend microservices and modern frontend interfaces with strong performance and reliability. Drive architectural decisions across systems, ensuring solutions are designed for scalability, security, maintainability, and long-term evolution. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to translate requirements into robust technical implementations. Participate in code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and help maintain high-quality standards across the codebase. Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical growth and a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture. Stay current with emerging technologies and AI-enabled development practices to continuously improve engineering efficiency and innovation. Requirements: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including strong expertise in Java or Golang. 5+ years of experience in database design, optimization, and performance tuning in production systems. 5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or equivalent providers. 3+ years of full stack engineering experience building both backend services and frontend applications. 2+ years of experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude or similar). Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and scalable system patterns. Proven ability to work effectively in agile environments with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and operate in a remote-first setting.
