About the Role
We are building a private investment platform focused on deploying capital into real economy businesses in Venezuela, including sectors such as logistics, food distribution, and oilfield services.
This is a foundational hire. The VP of Investments will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments, working directly with leadership to build the firm’s investment engine from the ground up.
The ideal candidate combines strong private equity / investment banking discipline,deep Latin America exposure, and the ability to operate in complex, high-opportunitymarkets.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Execution & Analysis
- Lead end-to-end investment processes, including underwriting, financial modeling, due diligence, and execution.
- Build and maintain complex financial models (valuation, cash flow, scenario analysis).
- Evaluate investment opportunities across real economy sectors.
- Conduct industry, market, and competitive analysis.
Deal Structuring & Closing
- Support structuring of transactions and investment vehicles.
- Participate in negotiations and closing processes.
- Prepare investment memos and materials for decision-making.
Portfolio Management & Value Creation
- Work closely with portfolio company operators to drive performance and value creation.
- Monitor financial and operational performance post-investment.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and growth.
Investor Communication & Strategy
- Prepare high-quality presentations and investment materials for stakeholders and investors.
- Support fundraising efforts and strategic planning.
- Contribute to the development of the firm’s investment strategy.
- Experience: 8–12 years in Private Equity, Investment Banking.
- Regional Expertise: Strong experience across Latin America markets.
- Education: US-educated or strong exposure to U.S. academic/professional environments.
- Technical Skills: Advanced financial modeling (Excel), PowerPoint, and deal analysis.
- Transaction Experience: Proven track record executing deals end-to-end.
- Language: Fluent English and Spanish (full bilingual proficiency required).
- Location/Background: Venezuelan background is highly preferred.
